Tree Surgery
Fully-insured arborists for all aspects of tree work.
In the best interest of your trees and the environment, we work to BS3998 which is the Britsh Standard recommendations for arboriculture services. With every job we carry out we always ensure full consideration to health and safety, the environment, adjacent trees, the soil, protection of wildlife, seasonal factors and follow-up works.
Removing trees can be a very dangerous service to carry out if not performed by experienced professionals. It requires knowledge of physics, wood properties, equipment ratings, rope strengths and good working communications too. Using highly qualified climbers, we remove trees safely and efficiently with our rigging kits of ropes, blocks and pulleys. All are extensively examined and tested for insurance and safety purposes.
SERVICES
Crown Lifts
Whether trees need to be lifted to meet highway specifications, to protect pedestrians on pathways or to increase light, we have all the skills, tools and certificates to remove the lower limbs of trees safely, securely, neatly and efficiently.
SERVICES
Crown Thinning & Crown Reductions
Thinning trees could let more light into your garden. It doesn’t affect the overall size of the tree but helps reduce wind resistance and weight, which makes a positive difference to the health and lifespan of the tree. We can also reduce the size of your tree if needed and will always recommend what we believe will be the best outcome for you.
SERVICES
Pollarding & Repollarding
Pollarding is a type of tree surgery that encourages tree growth at a specifically prescribed height. By removing the top of a young tree, we encourage multi-stem branching from that point, traditionally creating a pollard point. We can also provide coppicing services which are completed at ground level and helps to encourage growth to increase production timber.
We are fully experienced and certified for this kind of work for a wide range of customers, including councils and recommend bi-annual re-visits to maintain the work.
SERVICES
Deadwooding
Deadwood can become hazardous and unsafe if not removed safely and properly before it falls. Deadwood can happen for a number of reasons, but most commonly due to ageing. This is one of the reasons we recommend bi-annual surveys of your trees, so that if there’s any unsafe wood, we can remove it to remove any risk. Remember, we work for a wide range of companies, from entire estates as well as clients with a single tree in their garden.
SERVICES
24 Hour Emergency Callouts
When a tree falls or becomes a danger to others, time is of the essence as problems can quickly escalate. Whether a tree is blocking a road, damaging a building or posing a serious threat, call JD Tree Services for an emergency call out. Our high level of skills, qualifications and expertise will be put to good use.
SERVICES
Removing Waste
Our waste carriers licence means we can remove the waste woodchip as required. Or we can leave it with you if you prefer, for you to use in your garden. We also recommend using smaller branches and logs to create Habitat piles, which we can create for you, because they’re incredibly good for wildlife such as insects and hedgehogs.
Client Feedback
Something we pride ourselves on more than anything is the trusted relationships we build with our clients. The majority of our work comes from word of mouth and recommendations, and so we’ve asked our clients to share their feedback.
